As an institution that performs research on multi-disciplinary scientific and engineering subjects under Marine Science and Marine Technology departments, studies primarily focused on understanding the marine environment as well as investigation of valid and up to date findings and information for the management of living and nonliving marine resources.
IMST primarily aims to provide contributions to marine science and develop the technologies that will enable the use of marine resources by humanity through high technology products meeting or going beyond the universal standards and marine research activities as these goals are indispensible elements in sustainability and development of national maritime interests and assuring the national persistance in oceans.
As a part of The Graduate School of Marine Sciences and Technology, being one of the institutes of Dokuz Eylül University that manages post-graduate education programs, IMST have been assigned to provide post-graduate education programs covering plenty of subjects in marine science and marine engineering disciplines.
