The programme has been designed with the busy maritime professional in mind, enabling you to apply your existing specialist knowledge of surveying to the ever-changing global industry and develop your ability to manage strategically.

Having already passed either of the Lloyd’s Maritime Academy surveying diplomas, this MSc top up route gives you the unique opportunity to gain a master’s degree delivered by distance learning from the well established partnership between Lloyd’s Maritime Academy and Middlesex University Business School. Delivered over 18 months, MSc in Marine Surveying will provide essential management content, building upon your existing technical knowledge and practical competence. Thereby giving you the tools to progress your career to the next level.

This top up programme consists of two compulsory core modules; management skills for the marine surveyor and ship design and the impact on the surveyor followed by an Applied Project. The two modules cover both technical and a broad range of higher level management and strategic thinking then the project allows you to apply these new skills to a particular issue or area of interest.

As you know, distance education provides a flexible approach to your studies, allowing you to develop your knowledge and professional practice at a time and place that is convenient to you. Through a dedicated virtual learning environment, you will be able to view the programme materials as well as engage in the group forum for discussions and networking opportunities with your fellow students.
