About this course

Newcastle University is home to the largest and broadest dedicated marine technology research group in the UK, this means you'll be taught by leaders in their field. You'll also benefit from our cutting-edge facilities.

Our MSc is designed for graduates in:

  • marine technology/engineering
  • offshore engineering
  • naval architecture
  • mechanical engineering
  • related disciplines

You will focus on the fundamentals of offshore, subsea and pipeline engineering and develop knowledge and skills in the following which are critical in the industry:

  • the dynamics of offshore installations
  • advanced structural design
  • marine risers, umbilicals and mooring lines
