The two main focuses of this programme are:
1. Fishery biology: dynamics of exploited marine populations, biodiversity, demersal ecosystems, gear selectivity.
2.Ecology of the coastal zone: biogeochemical cycles, structure of trophic networks, population dynamics, anthropic impacts.
In order to ensure the quality of the educationa, doctoral students must complete a minimum of 60 compulsory hours of the common offer of training activities of a transversal nature (the completion of courses of similar characteristics offered in other Universities will also be valued). Likewise, it is recommended to carry them out during the first year of study for full-time students or between the first and second year for part-time students.
The doctorate is subject to evaluation and continuous improvement processes that guarantee its prestige and European recognition.
