Department of Ocean Science teaches knowledge on natural phenomena and processes occurring in the ocean with the purpose of educating the world-class creative human resources in the field of future ocean science. Especially ocean environmental change, climate change, ocean energy resources, ocean ecology, polar exploration are main topics in the education curriculum.

To develop integrated curriculum, the department of Ocean Science also collaborates with other important ocean institutes including the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST) and the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Administration (KHOA) located at Innovation Ocean Cluster nearby university campus. This will make a better learning environment to students.
