The objective of the Department of Energy and Resources Engineering is to nurture the manpower necessary for the exploration and development of energy and mineral resources in the Earth and underground spaces.
The Department of Energy and Resources Engineering seeks to educate creative and practical engineers who are needed in fields of the exploration, production and utilization of petroleum and mineral resources.
A variety of courses in related fields such as applied geophysics, petroleum engineering, drilling, resources economics, mineral processing and renewable energy are provided and opportunities for practical training using experimental equipment and commercial software are also offered.
Training courses linked with the industry are offered with the ABEEK (Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea) program. Since 2009, a variety of practical training opportunities and scholarships for students have been provided through the Korea Energy and Mineral Resources Engineering Program supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy.
