The course deals with digital processing and presentation of geological, geographical, and geophysical data.
The course is a mix of lectures and practical exercises, and gives knowledge in digital data processing, map production and analysis, adapted to the demands of modern geoscientific research and industry.
Prerequisites
Admission to the course requires knowledge equivalent to 45 credits in Geology or Earth Science, Geology and Geophysics, 15 credits (GG2201), Quantitative Methods in Geoscience, 7.5 credits and Statistical Methods in Geoscience, 7.5 credits (GE4025), alternatively Tellus I - Geology, 15 hp (GG2008), Tellus II - Geology, 12.5, hp (GG4039), Tellus III - Geology, 2.5 credits (GG4042) and 15 credits of mathematics and statistics are included.
